I paint places I want to spend time in. Some are places that I've been to and want to revisit through immersing myself in the painting experience. Other times I see a place I would like to explore but circumstances have prevented me from doing so in person. Again, the act of painting lets me feel like I've been there - at least in my mind. Either way, there is something about a certain place that provokes a strong feeling in me. It is that feeling that I work to capture through my paintings.
I grew up in Ohio and have a BFA from Miami University.
I started painting in earnest after a decades long career in advertising in Chicago.
I now live and paint in Evanston, Illinois.
During that time I have been able to join painting workshops both in Europe and the U.S.
My work has been featured in several local group and solo shows,
and collected by many.
